Prayer, Fear & Control

The purpose of prayer is to release the power of God to accomplish the purposes of God. The purpose of prayer is to discover God’s will – and not try to obligate Him to do ours; the purpose of why we pray is reflect God’s mind, to pray what is on His mind & His heart– no try to change it.

When we pray, we try to find the “right words”, the right prayer that we believe will take care of the situation and control the outcome, because after all we believe we know what’s best – we know how to fix the situation, we have the answer – we are so used to “fixing stuff” – we feel we can fix anything and if we pray about it.

We try to control God through our prayers – He cannot be controlled or manipulated by what we say or do. He is God.

Prov 3:5, 6 Lean not to your own understanding – which means to “support yourself “ and depend on what you think you know- fear will cause to “support ourselves” – especially if we are used to taking care of ourselves – Ms. Independent! – Ms. Boss Lady!.

It is a practice to learn how to daily lean & acknowledge the Lord!

God does not want us to support ourselves – He is our Father and He supports us! He wants us to lean on His wisdom, His truth, His words, depend on His way of doing things.

Blessings
